Patient Advocate – Patient Navigation Support

At Turnout ), we build systems that help people navigate some of life's most complex government and healthcare challenges. Our mission extends beyond technology—we believe every individual deserves access to clear guidance, fair representation, and compassionate support.

We are expanding our healthcare navigation vertical and seeking a Patient Advocate to support Medicare beneficiaries in understanding and accessing the care they need. Many of our clients face barriers when trying to use their insurance, coordinate care, or communicate with providers. The Patient Advocate acts as a trusted guide—helping each person move through the healthcare system with confidence and clarity.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Medicare patients after their initial intake
  • Help patients understand and use their benefits, including booking appointments, managing referrals, clarifying deductibles or copays, and more
  • Support communication between patients, providers, and specialists to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with portal access, telehealth setup, and digital health tools
  • Document all interactions, updates, and care coordination steps within Turnout's internal platform
  • Deliver compassionate, culturally responsive support to every patient

Who You Are

  • Experienced in patient advocacy, case management, care coordination, or health coaching
  • Familiar with Medicare, Medicaid, or other public health insurance programs
  • Deeply committed to patient empowerment and equitable access to care
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable in a fast-paced, startup setting
  • Technically confident—able to learn and use EHR, CRM, and internal communication tools efficiently
  • Skilled communicator with empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages common among Medicare populations) preferred but not a must

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare, advocacy, or social services role
  • Solid understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and Medicare workflows
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Experience working with older adults or vulnerable populations
  • Preferred Certifications: RN, CMA, or BCPA - not a must

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
