About Summit EPC

Summit EPC is a specialized design-build construction partner serving food and beverage, food processing, cold storage, and light industrial manufacturing clients across the Midwest and beyond. We work directly with owners and operators to design and deliver complex, high-performance facilities where operational reliability, process integration, and schedule certainty are critical.

About this Role

We are seeking a Business Development Leader to help shape the next chapter of Summit EPC's growth. This is not a transactional sales role. It is a market-development and relationship-driven leadership role focused on building long-term project pipelines in targeted industries and geographies.

You will lead the development of new and adjacent markets by leveraging personal deep industry relationships, technical credibility, and an understanding of how capital projects are conceived, designed, funded, and delivered.

Success in this role creates a clear path to expanded leadership responsibility, including Director-level or Executive-level roles as Summit EPC continues to scale.

Market and Opportunity Development

  • Identify, pursue, and develop new project opportunities aligned with Summit EPC's strengths in food and beverage production, food processing, cold storage, and light industrial manufacturing
  • Expand Summit EPC's presence in adjacent and complementary markets aligned with design-build, design- assist or bid-build opportunities.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities across the Midwest, with emphasis on IN, OH, MI, IL, and KY while capturing national opportunities that make sense strategically.

Relationship-Driven Business Development

  • Cultivate trusted relationships with facility owners, operators, and developers
  • Build partnerships with architects, engineers, specialty consultants, and equipment suppliers
  • Position Summit EPC early in project acquisition, feasibility, and conceptual design phases
  • Represent Summit EPC at industry events, client meetings, and regional market engagements

Strategic Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, preconstruction, and operations teams
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to leadership regarding trends and growth opportunities
  • Help refine Summit EPC's go-to-market strategy as the company expands into new verticals

What We Are Looking For

  • 5-10+ years of experience in design and/or construction project development for light industrial manufacturing facilities
  • Experience with food and beverage, food processing, cold storage, or manufacturing facilities with extensive systems, equipment and facility design/construction exposure
  • Established Midwest-based industry relationships and market credibility
  • Strategic thinker with a relationship-first mindset
  • Comfortable engaging executive, operational, and technical stakeholders
  • Strong communicator able to translate operational needs into buildable solutions
  • Self-directed, entrepreneurial, and motivated by building long-term value
  • Aligned with a culture centered on integrity, collaboration, accountability, and excellence

Why Summit EPC

  • Direct access to senior leadership and influence on company strategy
  • Opportunity to build new markets correlated with high impact within a growth mindset company
  • Clear runway for advancement into Director-level or Executive-level leadership roles
  • Collaborative, high-trust environment where leaders are empowered
  • Long-term, relationship-driven approach to business development
  • Organization that invests in people and promotes from within
  • Competitive base compensation and performance-based incentives
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Flexibility to operate regionally while remaining closely connected to leadership
