Job description

BlueSkies for children is a national model for early care and education, and is the only child care center in Oakland accredited by NAEYC, providing a balanced program of nurturing and enrichment all day and all year for children from infancy through age five. We are looking for committed teachers who are looking for an environment where they:

  • Collaborate to create a classroom setting where children's social and emotional growth are supported
  • Provide balanced programs that are nurturing and enriching, and are based on principles of respect for children's unfolding growth process, children's individual temperament, proven principles of early childhood development, the needs of an individual as part of a society
  • Are supported in their professional growth and expanding their careers in Early Childhood Education

This is a full-time position and the hours will fall between 8:15am and 4:45pm, Monday through Friday. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus; must also be fluent in English.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 12 units of ECE (AA or BA preferred)
  • 1-3 years' experience in Early Childhood Education
  • Experience working in a play-based program where children are guided in a flexible, subtle manner
  • Commitment to the BlueSkies philosophy and approach
  • Ability to work in a flexible and creative way, adapting to changes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Skills working in a collaborative team environment
