Associate Director, Safety Training and Compliance

Summary
The Associate Director of Safety Training, Compliance, and Program Development is tasked with the creation, maintenance, updating, filing, and implementation of all essential training programs, as well as, assisting with the development of the overall Health and Safety program. This position reports to the Director of Health and Safety, or another management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. This position is located in Houston, TX and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. Overtime and weekend working hours may be required as needed. This position is expected to travel up to 50%.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
- Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position
- Development and implementation of safety training programs, including curriculums, syllabus, evaluation criteria, training satisfaction surveys and other training initiatives.
- Develop and implement the Qualified Electrical Worker Program for the organization.
- Conduct regular audits of training records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage the training calendar and ensure timely completion of all required training.
- Provide comprehensive support for safety training initiatives, including coordination of training sessions, management of training materials, and tracking of training completion.
- Proactively communicate with field personnel to address any training-related issues or concerns.
- Work in tandem with the operations teams to identify areas for enhancement in safety training processes and procedures.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and approving safety processes, including support for process mapping, and developing Standard Operating procedures.
- Design and coordinate the safety assurance program.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, trends, and best practices in safety training.
- Execute additional responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Health and Safety.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in training and field compliance.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Electrical Safety Standards (OHSA, NFPA 70E)
- Strong understanding of training and compliance process and procedures.
- Strong understanding of developing and writing Standard Operating Procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and other software applications.
- Proficiency in training databases such as Avetta, ISNetworld, Heatspring, etc.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within project teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
