Position SummaryThis internship is designed to immerse interns into the Bridgestone Americas culture and expose them to interactions with management. The Government Affairs Intern will report to the Director of Governmental & Regulatory Affairs and will assist the GRA team in regulatory review and analysis, in addition to review of federal and state governmental affairs issues that impact Bridgestone Americas business units and functional areas. This individual will utilize analytical skills to synthesize complex regulatory information and be able to perform effective, independent, and objective analysis of governmental activities to advise GRA leadership on next recommended actions.

ResponsibilitiesThe position will have responsibility for the following under the direction and mentorship of the Director of Governmental & Regulatory Affairs:
- Assist the GRA team in the regulatory review and analysis for regulations in the Americas and review of state and federal governmental actions in the US. Execution of this work include but are not limited to:
- Review, analyze, and interpret data collected from multiple sources to aid in advocacy strategy and risk assessment, as necessary.
- Synthesize complex regulatory documents into executive summaries to advise GRA leadership of regulatory changes that impact the business.
- Use critical thinking skills to make recommendations to GRA leadership on next actions on advocacy and/or risk avoidance.

To thrive in this role, you need…
- To be pursuing a degree in Political Science, International Relations, International Business, or other relevant degree programs
To have a May 2027 graduation date for either undergraduate or graduate degree program
To be available to work 40 hours weekly in a 12-week internship assignment located in Nashville, TN.
- To be familiar with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
