About us

Flume is an ISP that brings gigabit broadband to underserved city residences Flume is building a residential gigabit internet offering to compete in buildings that traditionally do not have internet options. The company will achieve this by building out a dense fiber network with strategic partners as well as using unlicensed spectrum to deliver gigabit bandwidth to residentials subscribers. Unlike other wireless ISP's in the space, Flume places a large emphasis on entering markets where we can own the fiber and deploy it over shared-use infrastructure. We are building software and tools to automate monitoring and scaling the entire ISP network stack.

What we are looking for

● Flume is looking for Field Technicians who are excited to expand our network

● Field technician will be a key player in executing day to day installations and bringing

Flume to new subscribers

● Position will be involved in bringing a building from a design to a live network

Primary Responsibilities

● Responsible for installing internet service for residential customers

● Install, Terminate, Test, and Troubleshoot various types of cable (Copper and Fiber)

● Work in a fast paced environment and able to make critical decisions on the fly

● Being the face of our company, Friendliness and professionalism is key

● Placing and terminating cables (Fiber/Ethernet)

● Respond to outage and network issues

● Interact with customers, landlords, superintendents, and property managers

● Liaison between internal departments (customer service/Network Engineers)

● Set up and configure routers and modems and communicate with HQ in a timely manner

Requirements

● Minimum 1-3 years of fiber optic or similar cabling experience

● Valid driver license

● Read, understand and follow work orders/prints/scopes

● Flexible working schedule

● Familiarity working with hand and power tools

● Comfortable working in confined spaces (basements, electrical closets,

shaftways, etc.)

● Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs

● Capable working aloft (ladders/rooftops)
