As the Data Engineering Manager, you'll lead a talented team building scalable data systems that power advertising measurement and operational reporting. You'll guide technical strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, high-performing infrastructure. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do

  • Lead a team of data engineers to design and maintain scalable data pipelines
  • Build and optimize data models for real-time and batch processing
  • Architect cloud-based solutions with a focus on performance and reliability
  • Ensure systems meet security, privacy, and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data needs and deliver solutions
  • Mentor team members and drive engineering best practices

Basic qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in data engineering
  • 2 years in a lead or people leadership role
  • Intermediate proficiency in Python or R and SQL
  • 1 year of experience with data pipeline development and orchestration tools
  • Hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, GCP or AWS.

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a technical field
  • Experience in advertising or marketing analytics
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
