Job Overview
The Patient Services & Billing Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering a smooth, patient-centered experience while supporting the operational and financial functions of the practice. This position blends front desk leadership, administrative coordination, and billing oversight to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care.
What you'll do
- Patient Services / Front Desk
- Welcome patients and visitors professionally and warmly.
Billing & Revenue Cycle Support
- Assist with insurance verification and patient billing inquiries.
- Post payments and collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate claims processing.
- Help resolve account issues and coordinate with insurance providers as needed.
Operational Coordination
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Act as a liaison between clinical and administrative teams.
- Support workflow improvements and operational initiatives as needed.
- Review employee timecards to ensure accurate recording of hours worked and compliance with policies.
- Manage patient check-in/check-out processes and appointment scheduling.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patient questions and concerns.
- Guide and support front desk staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Train new front desk and administrative staff on policies, procedures, and workflows.
Basic qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in medical billing or healthcare administration (preferred).
- Experience in medical billing (Required)
- Management experience (2 years)
- Experience in medical billing and front desk operations, in an FQHC or community health center.
- Knowledge of FQHC billing requirements (Preferred)
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
