Job Overview

The Patient Services & Billing Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering a smooth, patient-centered experience while supporting the operational and financial functions of the practice. This position blends front desk leadership, administrative coordination, and billing oversight to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care.

What you'll do

  • Patient Services / Front Desk
  • Welcome patients and visitors professionally and warmly.

Billing & Revenue Cycle Support

  • Assist with insurance verification and patient billing inquiries.
  • Post payments and collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate claims processing.
  • Help resolve account issues and coordinate with insurance providers as needed.

Operational Coordination

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical and administrative teams.
  • Support workflow improvements and operational initiatives as needed.
  • Review employee timecards to ensure accurate recording of hours worked and compliance with policies.
  • Manage patient check-in/check-out processes and appointment scheduling.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patient questions and concerns.
  • Guide and support front desk staff to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Train new front desk and administrative staff on policies, procedures, and workflows.

Basic qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in medical billing or healthcare administration (preferred).
  • Experience in medical billing (Required)
  • Management experience (2 years)
  • Experience in medical billing and front desk operations, in an FQHC or community health center.
  • Knowledge of FQHC billing requirements (Preferred)
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
