We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Network Administrator/Analyst to support our team at Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona. This position plays a key role in maintaining and securing a sophisticated, mission-critical Wide Area Network (WAN) environment. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in network administration and analysis, strong troubleshooting skills, and a foundational understanding of cybersecurity practices.

Position Overview:

The Associate Network Administrator will be responsible for the daily operations, administration, maintenance, and security of WAN infrastructure-including routers, firewalls, Ethernet switches, and related systems. This role involves system monitoring, configuration, issue resolution, patching, and performance tuning to ensure a highly available and secure network. The candidate will also provide technical support to both internal teams and external customers, following established processes and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support WAN infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Perform regular monitoring, maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting of network systems
• Implement network configurations and assist in network upgrades
• Maintain network documentation and follow ITIL-based operational procedures
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and DoD standards

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Network device configuration and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Understanding of IPv4 addressing and subnetting
• Familiarity with basic network services: SSH, DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP
• Foundational cybersecurity principles
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Working knowledge of IT industry terminology and problem-solving methodologies

Education & Experience Requirements:

Option 1:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Security+ certification

Option 2:

• Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, Cybersecurity, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
• Security+ certification

Option 3:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, Cybersecurity, or related field
• Security+ certification

Certification Requirements:

• Prior to start: Must hold a current Security+ CE (IAT Level II) certification
• Within 60 days: Must obtain a CSSP Infrastructure Support certification (e.g., CySA+)
• Within 180 days: Must obtain a Computing Environment certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or Network+ CE)
• Preferred: CCNA certification

Clearance: Active Secret clearance or U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance

Desired Skills & Technologies:

• Hands-on experience with Cisco or Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls
• Network Layer 3 configuration and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
• VPN and RAVPN implementation and support
• Firewall administration (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto)
• Experience working within an IT production network environment
