We're Hiring: Sous Chef at Carmela's Italian Restaurant
Carmela's is looking for an experienced, motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. If you're passionate about Italian cuisine, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, and are ready to lead with skill and heart — we want to meet you.
What You'll Do:
- Work closely with our Executive Chef to execute menu items with excellence and consistency
- Help train and guide kitchen staff
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality
- Assist with inventory, prep lists, and kitchen organization
- Lead by example in a team-focused, high-energy environment
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience as a sous chef or strong line cook
- Solid understanding of Italian cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- Leadership skills with a hands-on, can-do attitude
- Weekend and evening availability
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Full-time
Must-Haves:
- Experience with Italian food and sauté station
- Ability to work as a team player in a busy kitchen
- Strong, positive attitude and leadership presence
- Dependable and always on time
- Works well under pressure and maintains high standards
