Born in the heart of Hawai'i and now bringing our island-inspired comfort food to the Daybreak community, Moena Café is a warm, vibrant café-meets-restaurant where ohana truly does mean family, and hospitality comes first.

Position Summary: We are a New and Growing restaurant looking for a motivated, hands-on Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and help us continue building something special. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leadership, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of a positive team environment.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • Experienced in a professional kitchen environment
  • Comfortable stepping into a leadership role when needed
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Passionate about food quality, consistency, and teamwork

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily kitchen operations and food preparation
  • Help lead and support kitchen staff during service
  • Maintain consistency, cleanliness, and food quality standards
  • Assist with ordering, inventory, and working with food distributors
  • Ensure proper food safety and sanitation practices
  • Help train and mentor kitchen staff as the team grows

Ideal Experience

  • Prior experience as a Sous Chef, Lead Line Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor
  • Working knowledge of kitchen operations and workflow
  • Experience placing orders and managing inventory is a plus
  • Basic management or leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Create a positive and teamwork atmosphere
