JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading the Warehouse, Mail Room, Visual Merchandising and Shared Services teams as well as establishing and maintaining all standards and practices of these operations for Universal Kids Resort (UKR). Oversees the Warehouse operation inclusive of receiving, storing and shipping of all goods and related supplies by the specific departments. Oversees Mail Room operation which includes receiving and shipping of packages and distributing/delivering mail to offices around the resort. Coordinates flow of goods from onsite and offsite locations. Maintains Shared Services systems and support for inventory, recipe control, ingredients, menus, pricing, and discounts. Ensures Visual Merchandising standards are upheld and are in alignment with Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for accurate and efficient receiving of all goods and related supplies to the warehouse. Maintains operating and productivity standards for supervisors and employees. Partners with client groups to establish and maintain order schedules and timely delivery. Ensures the distribution of product, packages, and mail to various venues is accurate and efficient. Partners with expeditors across the resort for storage needs including food and beverage items, merchandise, spare parts, entertainment supplies, seasonal items, etc. Partners with the Sourcing department regarding goods and services provided to UKR Revenue Operations Division.
  • Ensures that system updates for inventory, recipe control, menu boards, pricing and discounts are regularly updated and accurate. Oversees team responsible for design of digital assets on menu boards and ensures appropriate IP approvals are obtained prior to publishing. Manages execution of programs and special projects including but not limited to ingredient/nutritional/recipe analysis, menus (including but not limited to print, web, mobile and digital content), pricing, special event coordination, and mobile food and drink ordering. 
  • Fosters partnership with the Universal Products & Experiences Global Merchandise/Visual Merchandise team on Visual Merchandising matters to ensure alignment. Ensures the Visual Merchandising standards are maintained and consistent between all retail locations at UKR. Manages the expectations and deliverables of any Visual Merchandising projects including maintaining budgets and on-time completion. Ensures all key stakeholders are informed on the status of projects and that team seeks approvals for new visual merchandise displays including any IPs and designs/concepts.
  • Ensures that all equipment is maintained and maintains an efficient mail distribution operation. Ensures team is utilizing the most cost-effective method for outgoing business parcels and mail, that all outgoing freight is labeled accurately, and ready for pick up by freight carriers. Ensures team is documenting records appropriately, including maintaining daily delivery and closing logs and reports.
  • Participates in the determination and development of employee training and safety programs and the monitoring of such results. Builds a culture of safety and engagement with Team Members by ensuring Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) SOPs and relevant policies are followed. Monitors the operation to ensure safety and operational standards are consistently met and encourages a positive and safe work environment.
  • Develops operating budgets and monitors purchases against these budgets for each department. Plans, prepares, and manages routine budgets for capital and expense projects in partnership with Director, Revenue Operations. Executes approved capital projects, ensuring priorities are regularly reviewed. Monitors overtime ensuring financial responsibility and labor optimization. Develops and adheres to labor and non-labor budgets and looks for ways to improve overall efficiency of department.
  • Responsible for hiring decisions, training, coaching, and development of team. Assigns tasks and monitors performance to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Ensures leadership team is meeting all objectives and accountabilities.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervises an Exempt team

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years' experience in related Warehouse environments or Shipping/Receiving required.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
