Role Summary:

The
Collateral Analyst
is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of collateral documentation and custodial processes. This role ensures the timely and accurate delivery of collateral to the document custodian, effective management of vendor relationships, and resolution of custodial exceptions. They will collaborate with internal departments, warehouse lenders, custodians, and external vendors to streamline workflows, maintain data integrity, and support operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our outsourced collateral team to ensure delivery of collateral to our document custodian on a daily basis.
  • Manage the pipeline, workflow, and relationship of the document custodian and collateral vendors.
  • Review and analyze custodial data to identify and resolve critical exceptions
  • Collaborate with warehouse lenders and the custodian to clear outstanding exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Manage the logistics of the overall collateral workflow, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and identifying and implementing process improvement solutions.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of open collateral tasks against document custodian and collateral vendor reports.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, servicers, and vendors to identify procedural changes and system enhancements where needed; recommend operational improvements and assist in implementation.
  • Deliver servicing data tapes.
  • Work with the Vendor to ensure all trailing docs are delivered to the purchaser within the required timeframe.
  • Incumbents will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by any person authorized to give instructions or assignments.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of collateral management experience.
  • 1+ years of loan processing, document handling, and/or shipping experience.
  • Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work effectively with business teams, clients, and vendors to build strong relationships.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours or more.
  • Familiarity with mortgage investor and regulatory guidelines.
  • Self-starter who can work independently.
