Summary of Job Duties:The Pharmacy Specialist will serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team representing UAMS Specialty Pharmacy Services. The specialist will provide pharmacy services with a focus on safety, efficacy, and positive outcomes.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy Degree

  • PGY1 Residency Training OR 3 years of applicable experience

  • Licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacist or eligible for licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharm.D.

  • Board Certified in the applicable area

  • 5 years of applicable experience

  • EPIC Hyperspace and Willow Ambulatory, Microsoft Outlook, clinical knowledge, and clinical guidelines of the assigned disease state, communication skills, writing skills, organizational skills, time management skills, medical resource location, and use.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Handles task prioritization, adjusts to shifts in practice, and addresses day-to-day operational challenges.

  • Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Oversees patient care functions, including maintaining accurate records and refining medication therapies to improve treatment results.

  • Provides training and instruction to staff members and pharmacy students.

  • Participates in initiatives for process enhancement, policy revisions, or research activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.
