Surgical Veterinary Technician
Seeking Surgical Veterinary Technician. Must have minimum of 2 years of surgical experience.
- Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures.
- Anticipate surgical and patient needs during a procedure
Set up a sterile and sanitary environment, and maintain the sterile field for the patient during procedures.
Participate in stocking and restocking medical supplies advising inventory manager of low counts.
Inspect and sterilize medical instruments
- Intake all surgeries and provide and review estimates. Ensure 75% deposit has been collected.
- Complete and review all medical notes and discharge instruction.
- Monitoring and recovery of surgical pets.
- Take care of specimens, prepare, check, and monitor medications, and assist with dressings
Qualifications for Surgical Technician
2 years experience working as a surgical technician
Current BLS and ALS certificate required
Ability to interact comfortably with a high volume of patients, families, and staff
Demonstrated knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies
Credential (CVT) preferred but not required.
