Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring security systems, managing access points, and responding promptly to incidents. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to handle emergency situations effectively. Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or security is highly valued. The Security Officer will play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment through proactive surveillance and conflict management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to detect suspicious activity and ensure premises are secure.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify potential security breaches or safety hazards.
  • Manage access control by verifying identification and authorizations of visitors and employees.
  • Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, including medical emergencies requiring first aid or CPR if certified.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures related to loss prevention and property protection.
  • Maintain detailed incident reports and logs of daily activities for record-keeping purposes.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary to address security concerns.
  • Assist in conflict management by de-escalating tense situations professionally and calmly.
  • Provide assistance and directions to visitors or staff as needed while maintaining a secure environment.

Experience

  • MUST HAVE SECURITY LICENSE
  • Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or professional security roles is preferred.
  • Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, or other emergency response training are highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of surveillance systems (CCTV), conflict management techniques, and loss prevention strategies is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong observational skills with attention to detail for effective monitoring and incident response. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the safety of our community while developing valuable security skills in a dynamic environment.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 84 per week
