Rí Rá (roughly translated as "Good Fun") has been a labor of love for Ciaran Sheehan and David Kelly, two childhood friends from Ireland, since they emigrated to the USA in the 1990's. The duo's mission was to create a gathering place like those pubs that they knew so well from their hometowns in Ireland. Such a place would have authentic Irish interiors, would be welcoming to all and would act as a "social hub" for the local community; a "Real Irish Local". Rí Rá in Uptown Charlotte, NC, encompasses a fantastic, 2-storey, community oriented pub & restaurant, an outdoor deck, as well as two other brands (the Rí Rá Sandwich Shop and Uptown Coffee Co.) We want people who support our Mission (to "Create Experiences That People Love") and want to have fun in achieving it

  • You have a high level of passion for, and strong knowledge of, food and beverage, particularly as related to beer, spirits, cocktails and wine
  • You have experience in a high-volume bar setting
  • You ideally have TIPs alcohol procedures certification, alongside any State or County required license requirements for the service of food and alcohol

What You Will be Doing

  • Making food and beverage recommendations to guest to best suit their preferences and personal tastes
  • Serving food and beverage to guests at the bar and surrounding areas, ensuring that the presentation, consistency and timely preparation of all beverages is to the highest possible standards and that match our Company specifications
  • Preparing beverages for guests in Server sections, upholding the same high standards as outlined above
  • Interacting with guests
  • Adhering to all local and state laws regarding the service of alcohol and food; including Steps of Service and alcohol service standards
  • Ensuring that the bar and associated stations / areas, are kept stocked and are maintained in an organized, clean and sanitary manner
  • Ensuring that all set-up and break-down tasks are completed to standard
  • Assisting in representing the brand and business at the local level
  • Having fun
