Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or services that meet their needs.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations and explain features to enhance the customer experience.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and processing payments.
  • Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain attractive merchandise displays through effective merchandising and stocking practices.
  • Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves and organizing stockroom areas efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Use strong communication skills to inform customers about promotions, store policies, and product benefits.
  • Assist with cashiering duties, including balancing cash registers and preparing daily sales reports.
  • Support team members with supervising tasks when needed, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math to ensure accurate transactions.
  • Maintain proper phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
  • Engage in regular product demos to educate customers about new or featured items.

Requirements

  • Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
  • Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on friendly, clear interactions.
  • Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for transactions and inventory counts.
  • Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus but not mandatory; applicable in retail environments involving food or essentials.
  • Demonstrated phone etiquette skills for professional remote communication when necessary.
  • Supervising experience is advantageous for team leadership opportunities but not mandatory for entry-level roles.
