POSITION: Legal Administrative Assistant / Case Manager
Summary of Job:
This position provides support for attorneys and staff in various aspects including investigation, records requests and follow-up, case preparation, file organization and management, filing, e-mailing and mailing legal correspondence. Experience with personal injury preferred but not required.

*Job Description*

  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and court filings under attorney or paralegal direction.
  • Manage attorney and paralegal calendars, schedule appointments, court dates, depositions, and meetings, and send reminders as needed.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documents are properly indexed and accessible.
  • Coordinate mailings, including sending out demand letters, settlement offers, and client correspondence.
  • Assist with client intake by collecting initial information, preparing intake forms, and scheduling initial consultations.
  • Prepare and process billing statements, time entries, and expense reports for attorney review.
  • Support attorneys and paralegals during trial preparation by assembling trial notebooks, exhibits, and supporting documents.
  • Request and follow-up on medical documentation for clients.
  • Verify balances and organize case files with direction from a lead Paralegal and/or Attorney.
  • Routine data entry and dictation as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all ethical and legal requirements regarding client information
  • Handle routine administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, faxing, and filing document
  • Remain flexible and open to requests for support or assistance outside of the scope of this job description and to other duties as directed by the supervising attorney

*Job Requirements*

  • Experience working in a law firm or similar legal field
  • Experience requesting medical documentation and following up on requests
  • Team oriented and leadership driven
  • Independent, self-starter with who takes initiative and always goes above and beyond
  • Outgoing personality with patience to deal with a diverse group of attorneys, staff, and clients and to provide information with ordinary courtesy, diplomacy and tact
  • Experience with technology, ideal candidate is tech savvy, open to improving methodologies and constantly integrating new ideas into processes
  • Accurate typing ability of 45 wpm and comprehensive computer and office equipment experience
  • Proficient in technology skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Sharefile
  • Proficient in e-filing systems used in Wake County, and federal courts
  • Exceptional writing skills and documentation including settlement statements, creating chronological support, and communications with clients and court systems
  • Knowledge of legal principles and practices in order to assume responsibility of providing support for attorney team members in case management and information gathering at a level normally acquired through completion of an associate's degree or certified paralegal education
  • Knowledge of the various courts, their rules and filing requirements
  • Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and attention to detail skills to allow for timely, effective, and accurate performance of job duties
  • Ability to maintain utmost integrity in confidential matters

Education
: Minimum 2 year degree and/or paralegal certificate

Salary Range
*: Very competitive within Paralegal field

Hours
: 9 am – 5 pm
in person
