General Summary
The Community Impact Specialist: Community Education supports Marillac St. Vincent Family Services' mission to empower and uplift communities through accessible education. This role delivers engaging workshops, events and trainings focused on Health and Wellness and Digital Access, helping individuals and families gain the skills they need to thrive.
Working collaboratively with Community Connections staff and local partners, the Specialist builds strong relationships with schools, hospitals, community organizations, and parent groups across Cook County. Rooted in a trauma-informed and equity-focused approach, this position ensures programs are inclusive, responsive, and community-driven. This position requires flexible hours, including some evenings and Saturdays, to ensure that programs meet the diverse needs of the communities served.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate community education programs and workshops for adults, families, and older adults focused on Health and Wellness and Digital Literacy within the Connected Learning Center and other community spaces.
2. Develop and deliver engaging curriculum tailored to community needs, integrating hands-on learning in areas such as healthy living, nutrition education, digital navigation, and online safety.
3. Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, community organizations, healthcare providers, and local stakeholders to expand educational access and strengthen resource networks.
4. Represent MSV at community events, health fairs, and outreach initiatives by maintaining a consistent calendar of workshops, events, and collaborative opportunities.
5. Assess community needs regularly to inform program improvements, ensuring offerings remain responsive, inclusive, and culturally relevant.
6. Track and evaluate program outcomes, maintaining accurate records, participant data, and monthly reports that measure impact and identify areas for growth.
7. Stay informed on emerging trends and research in community wellness, health education, and digital inclusion to continuously enhance programming.
8. Provide training and support to volunteers, AmeriCorps members, and interns, fostering their development and engagement in community education efforts.
9. Collaborate with partner organizations such as Chicago Lights, DePaul University and Christ the King High School to coordinate student intern placements and service opportunities.
10. Work with the Sr. Director of Community Engagement to enhance existing partnerships and cultivate new collaborations that strengthen community education and access to resources.
11. Monitor and improve curriculum effectiveness by establishing benchmarks, evaluating outcomes, and implementing best practices for community impact.
12. Maintain accurate digital and paper records, including timely documentation of data, outcomes, and reports, while ensuring compliance with agency standards.
13. Process invoices and administrative documentation as needed to support program operations.
14. Work independently in the field and adapt to flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings and Saturdays, to meet community engagement goals.

Job Requirements
Experience/Education
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with a focus in education, social services,
public health, communication, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Ability to work Monday – Friday, and occasional evenings
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
