Internship Overview

Forward Global's Washington D.C. office seeks to hire an in-person,
full-time Spring Intern
to support its client and firm priorities. The intern will be responsible for various client-facing projects and administrative functions and can participate in a range of public affairs and government relations tasks, social and traditional media relations, policy research, and report writing for clients worldwide.

A successful intern will be outgoing and passionate about public policy and public affairs, and have excellent written communication skills that draw on the ability to be detailed and concise. They will also have a baseline understanding of domestic and international government affairs processes, workings of global traditional and online news platforms, and social media. Applicants should be detail-oriented and willing to support team members at all levels of the firm. They will be comfortable taking the initiative in independent projects and unstructured environments and will identify opportunities to contribute to client success. They will also have great time management and the ability to follow through on deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct client and firm-driven research, reporting, and analysis on developments in public policy, news media, and industry publications
  • Write memos covering a wide range of domestic and foreign policy topics to inform clients/internal teams
  • Provide coverage of congressional hearings and track legislation on the client's key issues
  • Create bios, itineraries, and other support materials for client meetings on Capitol Hill
  • Support Forward Global marketing initiatives, including internal and external events
  • Develop media lists, research journalists, and track news updates

Qualifications

  • Ability to work full-time in-person at our Georgetown office (preference will be given to candidates able to commit to a full-time internship, but all with accommodating academic schedules are welcome to apply)
  • College undergraduate junior or senior only, or graduate student
  • Strong organizational skills to tackle multiple priorities and communicate availability during busy times
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within tight deadlines
  • Strong Google Suite skills, slide deck creation, spreadsheet build out

Compensation & Benefits

This internship is paid at a competitive hourly rate, with a transportation stipend included.
