Human Resources Generalist - Full-Time, Boston 

This position reports to the Human Resources Manager

Job Responsibilities: 

Staffing: 

  • Develops, maintains and conducts selection and placement procedures. 
  • Conducts recruitment through internal and external advertising and networking. 
  • Manage applications of potential associates.  
  • Maintain HR portion of website 
  • Create, write and post all job descriptions 
  • Administer background and reference checks 

Onboarding: 

  • Lead new hire orientations with Human Resources Manager 
  • Process pre-hire onboarding information in Paylocity and applicable benefits plans. 
  • Coordinate setup of IT needs and partner with hiring managers and Human Resources Manager to coordinate onboarding events for all new hires, ensuring an exemplary new employee experience 

Benefits Administration: 

  • Primary employee benefits administrator for medical, dental, COBRA, workers' compensation, disability & life insurance, and 401(k) plans; maintains a strong knowledge of all plans and responsible to perform all compliance-related recordkeeping functions and reconciliation of monthly invoices 
  • Support annual benefits open enrollment, benefits fair, and annual 401(k) testing and audit with Human Resources Manager 

Compensation: 

  • Lead weekly payroll process in Paylocity, ensuring accurate and timely processing of updates, including new hires, transfers and promotions, pay rate changes, wage garnishments in compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices 

Performance Management: 

  • Assists Human Resources Manager in annual performance evolution process, checking reviews for quality, analyzing data for merit increases, and training managers on performance conversations 
  • Facilitates all internal transfers, promotions and new hire paperwork 

Other: 

  • Partner with Human Resources Manager on other special projects as needed; manage HR function in Human Resources Manager's absence 
  • Plan and administer meals to employee population during busy seasons like Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and the holidays 

Requirements:  

  • Exemplary written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; bilingual in spoken and written Spanish is a plus  
  • Proactive and analytical with a customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate collaboratively and effectively with a diverse employee population 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives 
  • Flexible, with the ability to resolve highly confidential, time-sensitive and complex issues independently and with sound judgment in a fast-paced environment 
  • Must be proficient with standard Microsoft Office programs, primarily Word and Excel; previous experience with Paylocity payroll is a plus 
  • Able to maintain confidentiality regarding all employee relations, benefits, compensation, and other protected personal data 

Other:  

  • Core schedule will be Monday – Friday, with a minimum of 3 days in-office 
  • Occasional weekend availability as business needs require 
  • Flexible to perform other business support responsibilities and projects during peak business periods 
  • Occasional local and/or regional travel may be required
