HR Generalist – Boston, MA (Hybrid)

A respected, long-standing financial services organization is seeking an experienced
HR Generalist

to join its Human Resources team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, compliance, performance management, and ongoing HR initiatives. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working across all levels of the organization to promote a positive, engaging, and productive workplace culture.

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will partner with employees and managers to ensure HR policies are clearly communicated, consistently applied, and aligned with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and offers.
  • Lead onboarding and new hire orientation to ensure a seamless transition for incoming employees.
  • Maintain accurate and timely completion of new hire documentation.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and HR policy guidance.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support employee engagement through recurring events, recognition programs, and communication initiatives.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Prepare HR documents such as agreements, reviews, and termination letters.
  • Assist with benefits administration, enrollment, and employee inquiries.

Performance Management & Development

  • Support performance management processes, including annual reviews and goal-setting cycles.
  • Help identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programs.
  • Provide coaching guidance to managers to drive effective performance conversations.

Policy Development & Implementation

  • Contribute to developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
  • Communicate policy changes and ensure consistent implementation across the organization.

HR Projects & Initiatives

  • Participate in and lead HR projects aimed at improving HR operations and employee experience.
  • Prepare HR reports, analytics, and insights to support strategic HR decision-making.

Key Measurements of Success

  • Ability to build trust and strong relationships across the employee population
  • Professional communication with employees, candidates, and external partners
  • Effective prioritization and follow-through with minimal direction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist role
  • Solid knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws; multi-state experience a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (ADP, Employee Navigator), Google Suite, Canva, DocuSign, and Adobe
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
