Big-D Construction is excited to an exciting Operations Internship that combines data analytics and operational support to help drive smarter decisions across our projects. This role blends data analytics and operations support: you'll help ensure our project performance data is accurate, current, and actionable while assisting project teams and leadership with reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work directly with the Operations Analyst and the operations leadership team to strengthen Big-D's data-driven decision-making framework.

This internship is based in our Salt Lake City, UT office and offers 20–25 hours of hands-on experience each week.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Operations & Supply Chain, Finance, Math, or Information Systems
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, COUNTIFS, formulas); familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, or SharePoint preferred.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn how analytics drive operational excellence.
  • Dependable, curious, and able to communicate clearly across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pull, clean, and organize weekly Procore data (Change Events, RFIs, Safety logs, Inspections, Punch lists).
  • Maintain and refresh Power Query / Power BI dashboards and troubleshoot data link issues.
  • Calculate and track key KPIs (CE→PCO conversion, PCO→PCCO conversion, time exposure, safety and quality metrics).
  • Provide operations support for project teams — assist with data validation, meeting prep, risk tracking, and dashboard summaries for internal reviews.
  • Create SOPs, refresh checklists, and version control logs to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
  • Support special reporting requests and continuous improvement projects for the Salt Lake Business Unit.
