Senior Robotics Engineer/Software Engineer

As a Senior Robotics Engineer/Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of advanced robotics systems, playing a key role in transforming research prototypes into commercialized products. You will collaborate across departments, contributing to the core software components and ensuring system functionality and performance. Your contributions will be integral to delivering innovative and scalable solutions in robotics space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Implementation: Participate and implement the modules defined by the Lead Robotics Engineer. Design and develop advanced robotic systems including motor control, sensors, localization, and autonomous navigation systems.
  • Algorithm Integration: Develop and integrate algorithms for computer vision, object detection/avoidance, path planning, and localization, in collaboration with the AI and software teams.
  • System Integration: Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure the seamless integration of robotics hardware with software components.
  • Middleware Development: Design and maintain middleware for smooth communication across robotic systems and software modules.
  • User Interface (UI) Development: Work with the UI team to integrate control systems for seamless interaction between users and robotic platforms.
  • Database Management: Develop and manage the admin module for database architecture, focusing on the robotic system's backend structure and data handling.
  • Testing & Debugging: Test, debug, and refine software to meet high standards of functionality, performance, and reliability in real-world conditions.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure comprehensive technical documentation, maintain best practices for code quality, and adhere to industry standards in safety and compliance.

Required Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Robotics Systems Expertise: Strong experience in the design and development of robotics systems, including motor control, sensor integration, path planning, navigation, and object detection/avoidance.
  • Middleware & ROS: Experience developing middleware for robotic platforms and familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS).
  • System Integration: Hands-on experience integrating software with hardware components in robotics systems.
  • Computer Vision & AI: Proven experience with computer vision techniques and autonomous systems; knowledge of AI/Machine Learning integration is highly desirable.
  • Programming Proficiency: Expertise in programming languages like Python, C++, or Java, with experience in modular development, integration, and deployment for large systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • AI/Machine Learning: Strong grasp of AI-driven robotics systems, with applied experience in object recognition, environment sensing, and machine learning models.
  • CAD & Simulation Tools: Experience with CAD design and simulation tools used for developing robotic systems.
  • Full-Stack Development: Familiarity with back-end and front-end frameworks, with an ability to design and integrate comprehensive admin modules.
  • UI & User Interaction: Knowledge of UI development and integration, ensuring smooth human-robot interaction and control systems.
  • Data Management: Experience in managing databases and backend systems for robotic platforms.

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Independent & Self-Disciplined: Capable of working autonomously with strong organizational skills and accountability.
  • Managerial Experience: Proven ability to manage projects, set priorities, and oversee deliverables from start to finish.
  • Coordination Skills: Experience working with and coordinating freelancers, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams, freelancers, mentor junior engineers, and drive collaboration across departments.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability to tackle complex challenges in robotics development.
  • Adaptability & Innovation: Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment, with a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high standards of precision and accuracy in all stages of development, from design to implementation.
