As a Security Officer - Corrections Patrol Professional in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a corrections environment, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment for all individuals on site. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and provide outstanding customer service while upholding our values of reliability, teamwork, and integrity. Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors at the location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility and along the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and/or incidents.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for corrections environments.
• Document observations, incidents, and security-related activities as required by the site and Allied Universal standards.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and law enforcement as necessary.
• Remain alert and aware of the surroundings at all times while on duty, monitoring for unusual activities and/or potential threats.
• Assist with access control, making sure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas within the corrections location.
• Participate in emergency response activities according to site-specific procedures and Allied Universal guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
