About the Role

We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer with 5+ years of experience spanning frontend and backend development. The ideal candidate has worked at both reputable tech companies (e.g., FAANG, Databricks, Snowflake) and startups, and thrives in an environment where ownership, adaptability, and iteration are key.

If you're a generalist who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges, shaping architectural direction, and building systems that scale — this is a great opportunity to make a major impact at an early stage of growth.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build the core intelligence engine end-to-end — including data ingestion, model orchestration, feedback loops, APIs, and UI integration.
  • Own architecture decisions across stack boundaries (Python / Go / TypeScript) to enable scalable and evolvable systems.
  • Collaborate directly with the founders on roadmap prioritization, trade-offs, and technical vision.
  • Define what great engineering looks like in an AI-first organization.
  • Occasionally engage with customers to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.

Who You Are

  • 5–15 years of experience in software engineering, including a senior title at a reputable tech company.
  • Proven experience working across different parts of the stack — frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
  • Strong foundations in distributed systems, data, or AI/ML.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and thinking like an owner.
  • Graduate of a top computer science program (MIT, Stanford, CMU, UC Berkeley, Caltech, Harvard, University of Washington, Georgia Tech, Cornell) — preferred but not required.

Hybrid Work Policy

This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, California, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office at 55 Hawthorne.

We value in-person collaboration as we build our early team. However, we're open to considering fully remote options for exceptional talent. If the right candidate prefers remote work, this could shape a long-term cultural shift toward fully remote operations.

Visa Sponsorship

Visa sponsorship is available. Both founders are immigrants and have a strong understanding of the immigration process. The team is committed to ensuring that sponsored individuals are supported — including working with investors to facilitate transitions to O-1 visas or placements within other portfolio companies if needed.

Compensation

Salary: $160,000 – $220,000 USD

Equity: Competitive equity package
