Kildea Marathon has been serving Ingham County consumers with convenient Self-Service gasoline fueling, clean and modern convenience store options and Self-Service Automatic car washes since 1995. Kildea Marathon is a locally family owned business that began as a leader in the automotive repair industry in 1966.

Overview:

Responsible for the proper and efficient operation of his or her shift, within company policy, in such a manner as to ensure that the shift contributes to the increased profitability of the store.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:

  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations at the eighth-grade level in order to be able to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of a variety of products during vendor check-in
  • Have sufficient visual acuity to check identification
  • Ability to read and understand instructions for operating cash register, adding machine, and other basic office machines and equipment
  • Ability to stock shelves, coolers, and ice machine
  • Ability to react to a fire by lifting a fire extinguisher weighing 25 pounds and moving it over the fire area
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning materials
  • Ability to sweep and mop floors, dust shelves, lift and carry trash containers and place in an outside bin
  • Ability to clean the parking lot and grounds surrounding the convenience store
  • Ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 40 degrees for up to 30 minutes at a time
  • Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency or hazmat situation
  • Follows company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines
  • Ability to work alone

Preferred Qualifications/Experience/Education:

  • Ability to speak and understand English, including the ability to hear the spoken word
  • Ability to read, understand, and write the English language at the eighth-grade level
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
  • Currently looking for help 24-32 hours per week, must include weekend availability (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). 1st shift is typically 6am - 2pm - Primary location Okemos & East Lansing

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
