We are committed to fostering literacy and educational development in our community. Our after-school program aims to support students in improving their reading and writing skills through engaging and interactive activities. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Program Director to lead our team and ensure the success of our after-school program.

Job Description:

The Program Director will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of our after-school program. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, a passion for education, and a commitment to creating a positive and enriching environment for students. The Program Director will also collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to achieve the program's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the after-school program, ensuring a safe and productive environment for students.
  • Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead and supervise program staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with literacy facilitators to develop and deliver high-quality literacy activities and lesson plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to meet program goals.
  • Manage the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Foster relationships with community partners, schools, and parents to support program objectives.
  • Plan and supervise field trips and special events related to literacy and educational enrichment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in program management, particularly in educational or youth programs, with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of literacy development, instructional strategies, and the ability to develop and implement strategic plans, manage budgets, and adapt in a dynamic educational setting with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
