Senior Network Engineer

Department: Networking

Regular Full-Time / Exempt

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for making sure Hivelocity's networks are tuned to optimum performance, delivering required information to end-users. This position works closely with the Dev/Ops team to collaborate on new projects with network considerations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for network design, documentation, and implementation.
  • Tests and documents system behavior, performance, and security.
  • Responsible for traffic engineering, monitoring, designs, and network troubleshooting.
  • Performs network backup according to a regular schedule.
  • Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and resources that standardize the functioning of the network.
  • Responds to support requests for network assistance.
  • Completes all duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related degree, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 10 years Networking experience.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7/365 scheduled and on-call environment.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands to complete various job functions. Must be able to read and understand color codes on components, wiring and equipment. Must be able to operate hand tools.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or more up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/ or more up to 100 pounds.
