Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pizza Maker/Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing high-quality pizzas and other menu items in a fast-paced environment, ensuring excellent food quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards, with a focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences. Previous experience in the food industry, including restaurant or culinary settings, is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and contribute to a vibrant dining atmosphere.
Duties
- Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes and customer specifications
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients with proper knife skills
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards
- Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and availability for daily operations
- Assist with menu planning and suggest new pizza varieties or specials to enhance customer offerings
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal preparation
- Serve food promptly while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings; culinary or kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper handling techniques
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods
- Experience with menu planning or creating new dishes is a plus
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is advantageous but not required
- Knowledge of fine dining standards or catering experience can be beneficial
- A passion for culinary arts and delivering exceptional food service standards
Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
