Duties

  • Process payroll and ensure it goes out in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an updated payroll policies and procedures manual.
  • Register the company in all states as required to do business and maintain on a regular basis.
  • Oversee and update payroll deductions for employee benefit plans.
  • Maintain personal purchase and payroll deduction accounts.
  • Manage timesheet details including rates, job allocations and deadlines.
  • Abide by all federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Maintain secure and private employee records.
  • Prepare yearly, quarterly, and weekly reports.
  • Review and reconcile benefits statements.
  • Provide supporting documentation for unemployment claims.
  • Provide verification of employment for employees and contract workers
  • Maintain payroll records including taxes, banking information, and unemployment claims.
  • Process and monitor all garnishment orders.
  • Assist with insurance audits.
  • Reconcile and monitor 401k deposits and contributions, as well as annual reporting.

Requirements

  • Ability to help analyze and explain payroll, tax and unemployment benefit information to staff and managers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude, flexible personality and problem solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of similar experience
  • Extensive experience with employee onboarding and continued maintenance for a workforce located across the US and Canada.
  • Need to be an independent thinker and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to details, and unwavering time management abilities
  • Knowledge of payroll management software, Paycom
  • Knowledge of ACA preferred.
  • Confidentiality is required.
