Job Summary
As a Landscape Designer, you will unleash your creativity and technical expertise to design stunning outdoor spaces that harmonize with nature and enhance the environment. You will collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to develop innovative landscape solutions that meet aesthetic, functional, and sustainable goals. Your role will be pivotal in transforming visions into reality through detailed plans and designs.
What you'll do
- Create captivating landscape designs using software tools such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Conduct site assessments and land surveying to gather essential data for design development.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure designs align with construction timelines and budgets.
- Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for hardscape elements, planting plans, and irrigation systems.
- Implement sustainable design practices that promote environmental stewardship and resource conservation.
- Oversee landscape maintenance plans to ensure the longevity of your designs.
- Engage in construction estimating to provide accurate project cost assessments.
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools like ArcGIS and ArcView for spatial analysis in design projects.
Basic qualifications
- Proficiency in landscape design software including Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and CAD applications.
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles and plant selection for diverse environments.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in project management within the landscaping or civil engineering sectors.
- Familiarity with construction processes related to landscaping projects.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems design and installation techniques.
