Account Manager

Located at TBA US Inc.'s Los Angeles office (Industrious, 1925 Century Park East, Suite 1700, Los Angeles, California 90067)

The role:

The Account Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, management, and financial control of all TBA projects. They will ensure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, that the desired result is achieved, and the most efficient resources are used. Reporting to the TBA US Head of Business/Office, they will proactively and frequently communicate with the Account & Project Directors, Managers, Producers, Creatives, Finance as needed. The Account Manager will oversee the development, production, and delivery of multiple projects across accounts from proposal right up to delivery and reconciliation.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Team management

  • Lead and own event strategy development and execution across events, activations, and hospitality, staying "in the know" on the hottest industry trends through research and ideation
  • Lead and manage successful, on-budget mid- to large-scale in-person and virtual live events, corporate meetings, presentations, and activations
  • Lead full-time, freelancers, supplier and vendors on mid to large-sized events with minimal oversight from Leadership team
  • Encourage a productive and empowering working environment while balancing business priorities and client expectations
  • Provide team with all necessary tools and training to improve core expertise and enable continued career growth
  • Assist Leadership & Production team to delivery world-class end-to-end delivery

Client relationship management

  • Lead and manage any and all Request for Proposal (RFP) processes to the company's standard with help and oversight from Leadership working closely with other departments to ensure the company's response is accurate and to the highest standard
  • Lead and own client meetings with confidence and integrity, providing a top tier experience from start to finish
  • Support Account Directors & Senior Leaders on overall health of clients and accounts.
  • Set meetings and agendas for client meetings whether to lead or support
  • Present the company and its interests in the best light, both internally and externally
  • Establish, maintain, and develop strong relationships across the client base
  • Support new business efforts, including pitch writing and presenting
  • Educate clients and influence to sell strategic and creative solutions

Financials

  • With the oversight of Account Directors, create and manage budgets; responsibility for supplier invoice/expense tracking and final reconciliation using the company's budgeting system, Procim
  • Negotiate contracts/agreements with 3rd party suppliers with oversight from Team lead.
  • A deep understanding of industry rates and standards to ensure budgets are competitive and ethical to ensure highest gross margin on all projects assigned
  • Be responsible for ensuring clients are invoiced in a timely manner and schedules are adhered to
  • Ensure clients are regularly updated on budget status
  • Track and manage project timelines with team and clients as directed
  • Maintain consistent and thorough communication with all parties involved in projects
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

Business management

  • Help lead, manage and implement TBA SoPs across the business, training and updating junior and entry level employees and freelancers
  • Update the business as necessary in company meetings and Leadership team meetings specific to the clients and account you are managing and supporting
  • Ensure that necessary procedures are carried out, recording client actions and decisions and updating Procim and other company processes
  • Run weekly team and client meetings

Essential skills/qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in relevant field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in an agency setting preferrable in sports, brands and/or entertainment
  • A thorough understanding of budgets and reconciliation (budget handling of $100k +) - basic knowledge of Procim an advantage
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, , basic database applications, and A.I. internet searches
  • Proficiency deck assemble and presentation skills (PowerPoint/Canva/InDesign)
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a can-do positive attitude and ability to use common sense. Learn on the job
  • Driven, confident, and articulate
  • Ability to juggle day-to-day tasks and prioritize workloads across multiple projects
  • Strong operational awareness – understanding of the daily functions of the role and how TBA operates
  • Ability to work overtime, over many days during a project, without skipping a beat and staying sharp
  • Knowledge of where to find resources and proactive to reach out to in order to complete tasks and gain information
