SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting the Director of Wine and Spirits in daily operations of the retail, a la carte and club event beverage programs, as well as beverage education programs.

• Certified WSET Level 1 (Wine) , CMS Level 1 and/or Certified Wine & Spirits Specialist preferred.
• High level of computer proficiency, analytical skills, and ability to develop fact-based selling presentations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Communicates fully with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.

• Reacts and respond to all requests/issues from club members relative to the wine retail department
• Led by the Director of Wine & Spirits, assist in scanning and updating weekly wine/liquor delivery invoices into inventory using Clear Sky and Beanworks.
• Led by the Director of Wine & Spirits, assist in putting all inventory (retail and non-retail wine/liquor) into JONAS POS and into the Shopify Retail website
• Assisting the Director of Wine & Spirits with monthly inventory of all wine, liquor, and beer
• Making sure all storage areas of wine (retail and non retail) are kept clean and organized.
• Putting retail wine and a la carte wine orders together, charging correctly and effectively communicating with membership of delivery or pick-up
• Assisting with special events, wine dinners, tastings, a la carte dinners and other club events to ensure all planned activities meet and exceed manager, membership & guest expectations.
• Assists Sommelier on the floor throughout the shift when needed for any special member and/or employee needs during a la carte dinner service and any special club events.
• Responsible for assisting with proper wine and champagne service table side during a la carte dinners and special club events
• Responsible for assisting with the recommendation and sales of wines and other beverages to Members.
• Led by the Director of Wine & Spirits, assisting with education for service and bar staff. (Food and Wine pairing, producers, regions, and wine varietal profile)
• Led by the Director of Wine & Spirits, assist with bartender duties and help the bartenders set-up/breakdown bars for day to day operation, events and caterings. Also assist bartenders with managing liquor and beer storage areas when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Wine and Spirits.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
