Food Production Manager 1

Role Overview:

Sodexo Headquarters is seeking a Kitchen Utility Associate to support daily kitchen operations in a high-volume corporate dining environment with global exposure in North Bethesda, Maryland.

This role ensures the kitchen and service areas operate efficiently, hygienically, and in alignment with company standards for safety, quality, and presentation. The ideal candidate is a dependable, team-oriented professional who can perform both back-of-house cleaning and food preparation tasks in a fast-paced, multicultural setting.

What You'll Do:

• Kitchen Support & Sanitation
• • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, dish room, and storage areas.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment according to company and health standards.
• Assist in waste management, recycling, and inventory rotation to ensure sustainability and compliance.
• Monitor and restock kitchen supplies as needed.
• Food Preparation Assistance
• • Support chefs and cooks in basic food prep tasks including washing, cutting, labeling, and portioning ingredients.
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
• Assist with set-up and breakdown of service stations for breakfast, lunch, or catering events.
• Operational Excellence
• • Adhere to safety and hygiene standards in compliance with local health regulations and corporate policies.
• Collaborate with culinary team members to ensure timely seamless kitchen flow.
• Support special functions, global events, and corporate catering as assigned.
• Team & Culture
• • Exhibit professionalism, time management, and respectful in a diverse and global workplace.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to anticipate needs and resolve issues proactively.

What You Bring:

• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen, corporate dining, or hospitality environment preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe certification a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks (standing, lifting, bending).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or occasional event hours as needed.
