Thinktown America, the US-based division of Thinktown Education, is seeking a motivated
Academic Advisor (Biology Track)
to work full-time. We are currently working remotely and will be keeping a fully remote/hybrid working mode.
The Thinktown Biology Subject Team is looking for someone who is passionate about biology knowledge, academic product, and tutoring, as well as eager to spread their knowledge and experience to more international high school learners to succeed their high school and future college application You will play an important role throughout our students' learning process. You will help our students make comprehensive study plans, advise them in individualized projects or experiments, and answer their questions regarding biology concepts. Also, you will collaborate with our biology team to design and develop various academic products through academic researching and contributing constructive ideas.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Academic planning:
- Play a key role in our students' learning process in high school. Based on students' various academic interest in biology and personal experience, you will design comprehensive study plans to help them build a solid profile.
- Exert your influence in the execution part of the study plan
- Tutor you students on important biology concepts
- Advise on their individualized extra-curriculum activities, such as personal research or programs, etc.
- Supervise them to prepare for academic competitions in biology, and help them adjust competition preparation plans
Product development:
- Provide feedback for existing academic products through experience with students; Contribute insights to new products in development stage based on the current product structures
- Collect useful resources for studying biology; Conduct academic research for new products
- Get involved in the brainstorming session of those who are interested in biology with other counselors to gain insights and inspirations in academic product development along with your personal research in the market.
Marketing activities:
- Collaborating with our personal planning team on creating biology-related promotional videos & articles
Basic Qualifications:
- Fluency in Mandarin and English (written, spoken, and reading)
- A minimum of master's degree in biology or related fields
- A fast learner and a problem solver
- Basic knowledge of or the willingness to learn project management and strategy
- Experience with or interest in working with a multicultural team that's spread out across various time zones
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, and can work multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Personal experience/teaching experience with Biology competition is preferred

Overview
As an Academic Advisor, you will focus on a particular track as indicated in the job posting title, at the same time, you will also act as one or more of these 9 roles as described below, according to personal conditions and company needs.
- ES: Edit application essays and school academic essays with students
- BS: Brainstorm application essays and school academic essays with students
- Sales: Research and prepare materials for sales pitches to students and their parents, provide students and their parents with consultancy session and sell Thinktown products
- Tutor: Conduct lectures and training sessions either online or in person
- Supervisor: Course arrangement and follow-up
- Consulting Associate of Education (CAE): Provide high level college application and career planning counseling to students which includes: (1) School and major selection, daily communication and follow-up with students and parents, phased application material collection and collation (2) Course selection guidance (3) English-test planning and counseling (4) Academic competition planning and counseling (5) Extracurricular activities design, planning and follow up
- Curriculum Practice Specialist (CPS): Provide high and middle level college application and career planning counseling to students which includes: (1) School and major selection, daily communication and follow-up with students and parents, phased application material collection and collation, application status follow-up, application tables fill-in, visa guidance (2) Course selection guidance (3) English-test planning and counseling, English-writing tutoring, mock interview (4) Academic competition planning and counseling (5) Extracurricular activities design, planning and follow up (6) Information research, students' information collection and collation
- Academic Advisor: Supervise in advising subject related products, provide educational guidance and assistance for students by planning schedules, recommending courses, and determining personalized education solutions, assists students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, academic research, and academic writing, provides subject competition and event consultation.
- Business Product Manager (BPM): Support one or part of an educational product, which may involve conducting market research, writing product handbook, coordinating strategies, monitoring project progress and collecting regular product feedback
