Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial management, and regulatory compliance. This role involves preparing financial statements, conducting audits, and providing insightful financial analysis to support our clients' needs. The CPA will also mentor junior staff and contribute to the overall success of our accounting department.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
  • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with SOX regulations
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including account reconciliation
  • Oversee tax preparation and ensure adherence to relevant tax laws
  • Provide financial report writing and interpretation for stakeholders
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on technical accounting issues
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounting and journal entries
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero for efficient financial management
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and regulatory reporting
  • Collaborate on corporate finance projects including private equity transactions
  • Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards where applicable

Skills

  • Proficient in accounting software and financial tools (QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero)
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits
  • Expertise in financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Familiarity with securities law and wills, trusts & estate law is a plus
  • Experience in non-profit accounting and auditing practices
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills for effective account analysis and cash flow management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while mentoring others
  • Must have at least 5 years experience, which includes experience in tax filing
  • Must be able to provide CPA license/number for verification
  • W-2 employee
