Overview
This is a
100% traveling position for Pharmacy Technician Leads
that are highly motivated and capable of collaboration with pharmacy staff members, Pharmacy Directors, VPO's, and other operational team members in increasing and ensuring the success of our pharmacies.
This position requires the understanding of all pharmacy technician functions, and leadership skills. This is a traveling position orienting, training, performing competency assessments, and evaluations of Pharmacy Technicians. Other responsibilities include monitoring work flows and reassigning Pharmacy Technicians as needed. This is a
remote/hybrid opportunity where you can reside anywhere within the Continental USA, traveling nationally and assisting with our local pharmacies where needed.
The ideal candidate will live a commutable distance to an airport and can multi-task, be adaptable and flexible, as well possess leadership skills.
Your
schedule
will depend on the business' needs and may include weekends.
Licensures:
PTCB and/or Licensed in your State of residence

Responsibilities
- Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
- Monitors work flow and reassigns Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
- Prepares Pharmacy Technician schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
- Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
- Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
- May perform the following:
- Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
- Works with automated machines to prepack drugs.
- Manages inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identify expired medications, managing to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand.
- Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry).
- Mixes/packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.
- Services facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
- Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Ensure technician adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/Learning Experience
- Required: HS diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- Required: Experience in an LTC pharmacy setting
- Desired: Prior supervisory experience
Skills/Knowledge
- Required: Basic understanding of drugs, medication terminology, and metric system; ability to operate a computer.
- Desired: Workflow management skills; scheduling skills; performance management
