We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Control and Life Support Systems Engineer - Modeling & Simulation to join the team with Barrios Technology, a teammate company.

The Environmental Control and Life Support Systems Engineer - Modeling & Simulation will:

Support the advanced environmental control and life support systems analysis group.

Simulate and evaluate performance of life support systems for future NASA vehicles and habitats including the Orion spacecraft and vehicles capable of lunar or Mars missions.

Correlate fluid test results to corresponding model.

Model chemical processes, fluid flows, space environments, and size equipment performing life support functions for space flights.

Evaluate and refine requirements for life support equipment that will support future missions.

- Perform other tasks assigned.

Requisition Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.

Capable of developing simulation models of chemical and fluid processes at varying levels of fidelity ranging from detailed, first-principle models to more descriptive lumped-parameter models.

Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to use data to draw conclusions and support the conclusions when challenged.

Excellent presentation skills.

- Excellent communication skills in a team environment.

Requisition Preferences:

Aspen software experience.

Computational human modeling experience.

Experience with dynamic chemical or fluid process simulation.

Programming knowledge in one or more of the following: MATLAB, Simulink, Python, FORTRAN, C, Visual Basic, Ansys, Star CCM, COMSOL.

Experience with chemical processes associated with NASA life support systems.

Experience with microgravity fluidics

Experience with modeling or system design for two phase flow.

- Understanding of the NASA processes for analysis, design, and system requirements.
