THE JOB:

The Network Technician is responsible for ensuring that network services meet corporate and client expectations by deploying temporary network cabling and equipment for conventions. This role involves logging changes, maintaining system integrity, communicating project status to management, and collaborating with internal departments, clients, and vendors to resolve any issues that arise.

THE STARTING RATE: $35.79 hourly

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Ensure that network services meet corporate & client expectations and meet deadlines
  • Deploy temporary network cabling and network equipment to facilitate the needs of conventions
  • Log changes and connections made to the network
  • Communicate project status and delivery information to management
  • Interface with internal departments, clients and vendors to resolve issues
  • Conduct routine maintenance to convention network to maintain system integrity
  • Build network cables for temporary use in convention areas
  • Become fluent in MGM Resorts properties, convention/ballroom spaces and venues as it relates to the network infrastructure
  • Stay current in network enterprise solutions, vendor products, and net technologies

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Associate's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related Field, or equivalent education and experience required
  • 1+ years of prior relevant networking infrastructure experience required
  • 1+ years of prior relevant experience working with Cisco or Enterprise grade equipment required
  • Ability to review trace routes and device logs to effectively problem diagnose
  • Working knowledge of multi-vendor
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
