Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards of excellence. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that each dish is prepared with precision and creativity while maintaining the highest levels of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, poke bowls, and rolls, using fresh ingredients.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
  • Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and preparation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by accommodating special requests.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making.
  • Familiarity with fine dining standards and practices is a plus.
  • Experience working in kitchen environments, including catering or dietary departments, is beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality in food presentation.
