You are responsible for cleaning back of house and public areas while maintaining communication with all team members. Save the day by responding to calls for spills, cleaning or trash removal. Public Spaces Attendants directly support Housekeeping to maintain the hotel in sparkling condition

What you'll do:
The Brass Tacks
- Cleaning all public areas
- Work with others where needed
- Demonstrate proper bending and lifting techniques to ensure their health and safety as well as others around them
- Responding to calls for spill clean up, trash removal, general cleaning and straightening of public or back of the house areas
- Follows all safety procedures
- Keep work environment clean and organized
- Pays special attention to detail
- Assures that we exceed guest expectations by being responsive, engaged and following-through on all requests.
- Maintains on-going communication with all team members
- Responds to internal and external inquiries and complaints and maintains favorable resident, member, guest and employee relations
- Protects company assets by establishing and ensuring adherence to security standards
- Strives to deliver exceptional products and service
- Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Columbia Hospitality values and mission
- Completes other duties as assigned
The Nitty Gritty
- Minimum 1 year housekeeping or related cleaning experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques/chemical applications a plus.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced role
- Ability to work independently will little direction
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and/or pull equipment or furniture
- Ability to perform duties that may require walking, standing, or bending
- General knowledge of safety laws, rules, and regulations
- Proficient interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers, other departments, and staff, and public.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to assess a situation and provide solutions/remedies
- Ability to read and speak English fluently is required
- May work weekends and holiday shifts as required.
- Ability to perform physically strenuous work across a large property, including walking long distances daily; working outdoors in inclement weather (both high heat and humidity, and freezing temperatures with wind, snow & ice)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within strict time constraints
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
