Sparks Group in collaboration with a utility client, is searching for a motivated Accounts Payable Specialist. The Specialist will be responsible for accounting and payment related procedures. They will provide financial, administrative and AP support services to the team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with accounts payable and strong Excel skills. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate accounting journals, ledgers and financial records
  • Assist with reporting procedures and year-end tax filing
  • Verify accounting data for integrity, check for discrepancies and resolve issues
  • Ensure all vendor files are accurate and complete
  • Assist with Credit Card Reconciliations and audit support
  • Interpret accounting data; prepare and analyze financial reports
  • Completes other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience
  • Experience working with purchase order systems, credit card reconciliations and vendor invoices
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer support
  • Ability to multi-task; prioritize and manage a large range of responsibilities
  • Solid analytical, technical and time management skills; ability to produce accurate deliverables timely
