Summary
The BDA will operate as a "hybrid" sales professional: dedicating most of their time to new business generation (hunting) while gaining essential hands-on experience, managing their own portfolio of smaller clients and supporting our top-tier accounts. This job will require approximately travel 25% of the time.
This role is strategically divided between Pipeline Generation (60%) and Account Ownership/Support (40%).
1. Pipeline Generation and (Hunting) (60%)
Lead Generation: Proactively research and identify new sales leads within the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Self-Storage and Third-Party Management sectors using tools like ZoomInfo. LinkedIn, trade show attendance lists and leads.
Outreach Execution: Execute high-volume, professional proactive calls, proactive emails, and targeted outreach to qualify prospects and set initial meetings.
Trade Show Follow-up: Own the follow-up process for all trade show and marketing leads, transforming raw contact lists into actionable sales opportunities.
2. Account Ownership and Management (40%)
Tier 2/3 Ownership: Manage the full sales lifecycle for an assigned portfolio of small-to-midsize Self-Storage accounts. This includes writing paint estimates, presenting proposals, closing sales, and ensuring client satisfaction.
"Touch Point Tracker" Create and manage personal tracker
Operational Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the client and our Operations Team: checking schedules, start dates and confirming they are accurate and providing the information to the customer.
BDM Support (Tier 1): Provide critical assistance to the BDM by assisting with their Tier 1 accounts:
Helping BDM with bid packages, site visits, writing paint estimates.
Maintaining client data and activity logs in to NetSuite CRM.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial painting and construction industry.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted outreach strategies.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations.
- Manage sales pipelines using CRM software such as Salesforce.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
- Support strategic planning initiatives to expand market presence.
- Coordinate with project management teams to ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role is highly preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage high-level executives professionally.
- Proficiency with CRM software (NetSuite preferred) and prospecting tools (e.g., ZoomInfo).
- Demonstrated resilience, persistence, and comfort with proactive calling and handling rejection.
- • A bachelor's degree is preferred, but equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- • Must be highly organized and self-motivated, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
COMPENSATION AND GROWTH POTENTIAL:
The compensation structure is designed to reward activity and success, placing you on a direct path to BDM role.
Base Salary: $50,000 -$55,000
Performance Bonus: Earned by working as a BDM and BDA team.
Account Commission: Earn progressive tiered commission structure.
Career Trajectory: Successful Associates are eligible for promotion to a Business Development Manager role based on performance
