PURPOSE

The Surveillance Manager ensures the integrity of the Casino's gaming operations by effectively monitoring and investigating activities through CCTV on a per-shift basis. They are responsible for notifying casino management of any non-compliance with regulations, internal controls, and game rules, as well as instances where asset integrity is compromised. Additionally, they report any violations and the remedial measures taken.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Surveillance Operations Management: Support the Director in setting departmental goals, overseeing daily operations, and managing the Supervisors to ensure effective surveillance coverage.
  • Budget Strategy and Planning: Assist in developing budget strategies and preparing financial plans to support departmental objectives and resource allocation.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Act as Chief Surveillance Auditor, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and compact gaming laws, and maintaining internal control standards and company policies.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Review and distribute Daily Activity and Incident Reports, compiling detailed daily and monthly surveillance activity reports for the Director, including significant activities and gaming statistics.
  • Equipment and Supply Management: Plan, organize, and maintain surveillance equipment installations and control access systems, ensuring the timely purchase of necessary supplies.
  • Training and Development: Develop and conduct comprehensive training programs on Casino Table Games, Internal Theft, Fraud Awareness, and Surveillance Procedures to enhance department skills.
  • Case Management and Collaboration: Organize and maintain case files, liaising with Security Management and department heads to ensure comprehensive investigation resolutions.
  • Interdepartmental Liaison: Serve as a liaison with external department heads and executives to facilitate communication and case management.
  • Team Supervision and Evaluation: Supervise, train, and evaluate team member performance, assisting in policy and procedure development and implementation.
  • Administrative Management: Handle administrative tasks, including organizing employee files, conducting job interviews, and documenting disciplinary actions.
  • Corporate Training Participation: Engage in corporate management training programs by attending supervisor training classes to enhance leadership skills.
  • Game Protection Training: Provide specialized training in game protection to surveillance personnel, ensuring vigilant and informed operations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's overall functionality and objectives.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Management, or a related field. Two (2) additional years of applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in surveillance, with at least three (3) years of experience leading others in a supervisory or manager role.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in creating and maintaining computer programs, web-based applications, and surveillance systems, including maintaining and repairing digital surveillance technology and closed-circuit television equipment.
  • Analytical and Statistical Skills: Skilled in analyzing gaming statistics, identifying discrepancies, computing rates and ratios, and interpreting data from graphs to support effective decision-making and reporting.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent ability to communicate effectively in various settings, establish strong working relationships with team members and management, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Problem-Solving and Observational Skills: Adept at applying common sense reasoning, detecting schemes and advantage play, and viewing surveillance footage to identify conclusive evidence.
  • Documentation and Reporting Proficiency: Capable of reading and interpreting policy manuals, writing effective reports, and organizing and maintaining spreadsheets for accurate documentation and communication.
  • Knowledge of Company and Industry Standards: Comprehensive understanding of company policies, departmental procedures, surveillance system operations, and gaming rules to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
