We are searching for an experienced and strategic Director of Accounting Operations to lead core accounting processes, including accounts payable and inventory. This leadership role demands exceptional communication and a collaborative mindset to partner effectively with teams across procurement, finance, budgeting, and operations. The ideal candidate is innovative, analytical, and skilled at driving process improvements in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee tracking and valuation of inventory for equipment and long-lead assets across multiple facilities, ensuring robust asset management and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Mentor, develop, and lead managers and staff, promoting a collaborative culture, open communication, and professional growth through cross-training and performance feedback.
  • Design and execute internal controls, supporting annual audit readiness and risk mitigation.
  • Spearhead automation initiatives and ERP system upgrades to streamline financial reporting, invoice processing, and payment workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, finance, and procurement to facilitate strategic objectives around budgeting, cash flow management, and capital spending.
  • Establish goals, KPIs, and best practices for the Accounts Payable department
  • Maintain accurate capitalization records and detailed inventory logs for assets tied to capital projects, optimizing asset tracking and reporting.
  • Assess operational procedures and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, transparency, and process standardization across the procure-to-pay cycle.
  • Provide financial analysis and research in support of management initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Demonstrate high professional agility in balancing competing projects and priorities, ensuring department objectives are met.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, working with other departments to accomplish strategic organizational goals.

Ideal Background:

  • Significant leadership experience in accounting operations, with deep knowledge of accounts payable, asset management, and inventory tracking, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven record in driving process automation and ERP enhancements.
  • Strong ability to foster a positive, results-oriented team dynamic.
  • Expertise in audit standards, internal controls, and risk management, including SOX.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
