Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity Eaglesoft is desired but not necessary.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including patient histories and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including coordinating with the dental receptionist for patient flow.
- Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when applicable, contributing to advanced diagnostic capabilities.
- Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, procedures, and advancements in technology within the field.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, but not necessary with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance.
- Knowledge of dental terminology related to dental procedures is beneficial.
- Strong anatomy knowledge relevant to dental practices, along with skills in taking dental x rays.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude towards patient care.
