What to ExpectWe're looking for skilled a engineer to design advanced battery cells—essential components in every Tesla product—that will enable affordable, accessible, and long lasting electric vehicles and energy storage systems.Tesla's vertical integration of products offers a unique opportunity in the industry. You'll develop architectures from concept to implementation, contribute to product roadmap decisions across our portfolio, and address technical manufacturing challenges at scale beyond typical automotive volumes.In this role, you'll apply first-principles thinking to battery cell design and advance battery technology through innovative approaches. You'll coordinate with multiple disciplines including supply chain, electrochemistry design, manufacturing, and quality engineering to develop prismatic cell products. Your responsibilities will include establishing and validating requirements while guiding designs through to mass production.We value technical excellence and commitment to pushing boundaries in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve.
