Job Description

As a Security Officer - Utilities Customer Service Desk in Rye, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and contractors. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing exceptional customer service. You will help to deter security-related incidents by maintaining a visible presence and communicating clearly with everyone entering the facility. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and guests by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk of the utilities location.
  • Monitor access control at the front desk, verifying identification and credentials for all individuals entering the premises.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of visitor and contractor logs, incident reports, and other security-related documentation.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as directed, supporting the utilities location's protocols and procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with all persons on site, providing assistance and information as needed while upholding Allied Universal's standards.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior by maintaining a visible presence at the front desk.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A security-related guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
